The bright orange wing bands were plainly visible in flight and drew my attention to this neat grasshopper.

Size: about 3 cm
Camel crickets are common enough around here, but this gal was a little different from the ones that inhabit my parents' crawl space. She was larger, more distinctly patterned, and found at night on a tree in the middle of the woods.
