Spiders and Their Relatives, Southwestern Research Station in Portal, Arizona. Field identification, taxonomy, ecology and behavior, utilizing the rich and intensively studied spider fauna found in the Chiricahua Mountain area of southeastern Arizona. Also hunt for other arachnids frequenting the area including scorpions, solpugids and whip scorpions.

The fifth annual Hokie BugFest will feature a live Bug Zoo, a haunted Bug House, luminescent bugs, games, crafts, and eye-catching exhibits. Bug enthusiasts can admire a giant bird-eater tarantula, try on a beekeeper’s suit, observe a live silkworm exhibit, and learn all about bed bugs. This is a fun and educational event for the entire family.
