Covered with brownish-orange pollen. Keys to Eulonchus tristis in Chris Borkent's recent revision. (The calypter or "squama" is not black rimmed, as it is in E. marginatus...which occurs mostly to the south of this far northern CA station.)

In this sexuallly dimorphic species, the white & black banded antennae indicate a female. The males have antennae entirely black.
