Wasp - Scolia nobilitata

Wasp - Scolia nobilitata

Is this a Scoliid wasp or possibly a Male Velvet Ant?

S. nobilitata
Moved from Scoliid Wasps.

Scoliid wasp
This is a scoliid wasp, but don't know which one. Where do you people find these wasps?! I almost never see them.

Same thing I'm Wondering!
I might've seen one of them but didn't recognise it as one of the Scoliids. Then again I might not have seen them and had mistaken it as a scoliid!

its either Campsomeris quadri
its either Campsomeris quadrimaculata or scolia nobilitata, I go to the UC Davis collection all the time and there are so many variations with scolia nobilitata it will blow your mind, i see them all the time in Florida, its the only species of scoliid that has that much of variations, and some look like completely different species
