NEW FAMILY Fanniidae: Fannia - Fannia

NEW FAMILY Fanniidae: Fannia - Fannia
Ames, Iowa, USA
March 29, 2007
Size: 6mm
this pic shows the second anal vein bending towards the first... a bit hard to see as the A2 is rather faint, but you can see how it would run into an imaginary line extended from A1... this helps to separate Fannia from the 2 widespread species of Euryomma

Confused
Are the wing venations supposed to be labeled "A2" or "2A"? Also, my Peterson Field Guide seems to show what I think you you are calling A1 and A2 as 2A and 3A. I'm probably misunderstanding the diagrams but looking at the Peterson diagram I'd have thought it was 3A bending toward 2A.
