Collected in a pitfall trap baited with chicken liver. Habitat was a grassy lawn outside the Field Museum. These are relatively uncommon in our samples.

Additional observations.
This species is generally uncommon or absent in carrion samples, but can occasionally reach moderate abundance (though still far less relative to Coproica or Leptocera). Samples from restored prairies in Northwest Illinois tended to see more of this species versus the urban parkland that this photographed specimen was collected from.
