Another Scathophaga - Scathophaga

Another Scathophaga - Scathophaga
Ames, Story County, Iowa, USA
March 31, 2007
Size: 10.5 mm
Another Scathophaga collected from the very same dung pile as the other Scathophaga I posted this morning... 2 species collected on the same dung pile within about 24 hours of each other... one can't help but wonder what ecological niche separates the two...

this looks more like S. stercoraria... interested to hear what the dipterists out there think
