Wheel Bug for New York State - Arilus cristatus
Central Park, New York City County, New York, USA
August 31, 2013
This specimen was captured on Staten Island, NYC, on 08/30/13 and brought to Central Park the next day to show to the assembled naturalists.
After its release it hung around for 15 minutes or so, then flew away powerfully towards the brightest area of the sky.
