Dagger moth? -
Catocala vidua
Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
October 5, 2014
Size: >40mm
A huge moth I discovered hanging out around the doorway. I'm pretty sure it's a Dagger moth of some kind but I'm having trouble figuring out which one.

Catocala
did you see the underwing? It looks to be Catocala vidua - Widow Underwing - Hodges #8792
the underwing would be black with a white trim at the fringe

Nope, I didn't get to see the underwing at all. I guess now I know why I couldn't find a matching dagger moth, huh?
