Nice butterfly!
We're supposed to have them aloft from March through October, but I haven't seen any. Host plant - in SoCal anyway - is mistletoe, which is found in sycamores and quite obvious. You've inspired me to keep looking.

 
Mistletoe
We have quite a lot of this epiphyte in the oaks & Cottonwoods( Too high to get at for photos). My fruit trees really attracted a lot of insects this year; had some frost, but I am still hopeful for a fruit crop.
