Chewing Acorn Gall - Polistes aurifer

Chewing Acorn Gall - Polistes aurifer
SRER, Florida Canyon, Sta. Rita Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, USA
July 26, 2013
This is likely the same wasp imaged by Joyce Gross:
We were observing the same gathering of insects at these oak galls (Quercus emoryi).
It has chewed into an oak acorn cup gall seeking sugar secretions.
