rove beetle - Lobrathium grande

rove beetle - Lobrathium grande
Lynnfield, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 1, 2007
Size: 12mm

Thanks Don
Another new species identified by you for the guide!

Lobrathium grande
Whoops, only close to Lathrobium. Not common, but we did have specimens from Massachusetts. This was a monster at about 12 mm.

Don, thanks for the correction
Next time I'll look at that first section of the antennae.
I got this one saved for you now.

Lathrobium sp.
No size indicated but it looks like a large distinctive species whose name I can't remember. The genera around Homaeotarsus have a conspicuously long first antennomere. Another one to hold onto for me.
