Cafius seminitens

Cafius seminitens
Surf Beach, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
May 19, 2014
Size: ~13mm
Found under wrack in sandy coastal habitat. I'm a little bit conflicted about this ID in that the sutures on the tergites are not as wavy as in other C. semitens. But, I'd still lean strongly towards C. seminitens based on large size relative to co-occuring C. canescens, silver opposed to gold pubescence, glossy black head and thorax and lack of clear punctures on the sternites
