Black Swallowtail Chrysalid - Papilio polyxenes
Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, USA
April 3, 2007
Size: 1.5 in.
Discovered on clipped oak shoot, approx. 4 in. above ground. The caterpillar attached itself at dusk and found chrysalis about 8 hours later.
