Mason Bee - Osmia - female

Mason Bee - Osmia - Female
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
April 3, 2007
Size: 12mm
This mason bee was cleaning itself. It was on Japanese Pieris.

Face had no whitish hairs anyway....
Because this individual is a female, as showed by robust head case and relatively short antennae. Therefore, you've got a shot of at least one. Pieris sp. are very attractive to Mason Bees and Bumblebees.

Thanks
Sometimes I get confused about genders, especially with bees & flies.
