Grapevine Epimenis cat. w/ eggs on it (?) - Euplectrus
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
April 3, 2007
Size: 1-2 cm
This was taken at around 4PM on april 3, less than 24 hours from when I found the caterpillar and took the first picture. The caterpillar is now sufficiently dead, and the parasitoids, which I am assuming for the time are braconid larvae, based on comments on the other pictures, have moved. Originally they were clustered on the back of A6 and A5, but now the have moved to caterpillars underside and I am assuming they are having quite a meal.

It's stuck to the inside of the cage, by the way, which is why you see a pink line. Also, the object that is sort of in the background on the left is a small piece of dead leaf or seed that is somehow stuck to either the carcass or one of the larvae.
