Weevil - Myosides seriehispidus

Weevil - Myosides seriehispidus
Mansfield, Tolland County, Connecticut, USA
October 29, 2014
Size: 4 mm
This weevil seems to have covered itself with grains of sand for camouflage. Or is it just dirty? I've not heard of this for weevils. Can it fly? It looks like its wings are glued together. ID anyone?
Found in a grassy field.
