Anavitrinella pampinaria

Easy to rear and not that particular about host plant (in case you would rather not deal with Stinging Nettle). Avoid refrigeration though, any poorly heated spot of your home will do.

Thanks!
I will keep it by the window (poorly insulated). Do they pupate underground?

Yes
4 - 8cm of garden variety top soil in a plastic container does the trick for me. Optionally add a few fallen leaves to provide cover. Better if the container is not air tight, but not open either. Keeping the soil from completely drying out while avoiding mold is the goal.

Rearing
I would like to rear this caterpillar to metamorphosis so any tips on getting it through the winter would be much appreciated. I do not have a basement or garage, would a refrigerator work?
