Hobo Spider or Giant House Spider? - Eratigena duellica

Hobo Spider or Giant House Spider? - Eratigena duellica
West Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
October 10, 2014
Size: 1.5-2"
We found the spider dead curled up (more than likely starved). We un-rolled the legs to take the image. The body was in perfect shape and it was found in our West Seattle home in a finished basement. We have found similar spiders (~4) in the late summer/early Fall timeframe. If we found them alive, then it was always at night wandering around either the basement or first floor.
