The light colored line would seem like a good identifier, but I still don't know.

Bird Grasshopper
This looks to be one of the bird grasshoppers, of the Schistocerca genus. I'm not certain of species though. See here for the genus page.

This is probably Schistocerca damnifica. I know, I should stop swearing....:-)

 
I agree with Eric
Not that he needs my confirmation, but the ridge on the pronotum would tend to separate out S. damnifica from the pack. Great photos!
