The light colored line would seem like a good identifier, but I still don't know.

Bird Grasshopper
This looks to be one of the bird grasshoppers, of the
Schistocerca
genus. I'm not certain of species though. See

This is probably Schistocerca damnifica. I know, I should stop swearing....:-)

I agree with Eric
Not that he needs my confirmation, but the ridge on the pronotum would tend to separate out S. damnifica from the pack. Great photos!
