Unidentified Assassin Nymph - Apiomerus

Unidentified Assassin Nymph - Apiomerus
Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
January 3, 2004
I found this under a log. My contact ID'd it as some sort of assassin bug nymph. It was smaller than it looks in this photo. My guess is under half an inch.

Apiomerus?
Neat. This sure looks like an Apiomerus species (bee assassin), but I would have expected to see it on a flower instead of under a log. Maybe I need to research the biology a bit more.
