Question
Can you please let me know who ID'd this? I have collected what I thought were N. triops, but the females of my specimens have the ovipositor extending far beyond the wingtips. I'd love to get a positive ID on mine.

That seems like a notable feature...did you try running it thru the key at Singing Insects of North America? Just a thought...

I always get N. triops confused with N. retusus, the latter of which I believe is the species I have commonly collected, along with the deafening N. robustus:-)
