September 12, 2014
Size: body length w/o legs 4 cm
Large crane fly like insect found on open porch at 630 am. Legs approx. 6 cm long. Pointed abdomen. Porch is in large rural grassland with forests and ponds nearby. Examining photos later, I discovered there was a small winged fly-like insect on the legs which appeared to move small distances on the legs in the 15 minutes I was photographing it.
