Challenge
I'd love for someone to submit a photo of the carnivorous larvae. I've read they are often nearby when you see the adults. I've only encountered the adults a few times and have never located the larvae. I'm always checking wooly aphid colonies for them and I'm sure I've stared straight at them and missed them because of their excellent camouflage. So the challenge is to photograph the larvae!

Likewise Love to see Larvae
Will Cook, a Durham birder/butterflier/botanist, has seen the larvae on aphid colonies on American Beech here in Duke Forest, Durham County, North Carolina. Several people went and saw them at a particular aphid colony, but I did not make it out there, though it is pretty close to my home/work. (I'm still kicking myself over that one.) He has posted photos of the aphids on the trees, but I don't see any photos of the larvae. He has some lovely photos of adults as well. Perhaps he got some photos of larvae, maybe you could e-mail him and suggest he join bugguide.

Larva
Here's a photo of the larva http://mrines.com/Butterflies/Harvesters/

Ok, how do you all make those links?

Forgot about the larva
Those are neat photos. What I really want though is for one of our contributors to submit some images for this site.

Yeah, I know....
I just wanted everyone to know what they were searching for. I could have it in my files right now and not even know it.

Simple
Read how to do that and more here.

You've inspired me. Tomorrow I'm going to add some help pages to the site.
