Florida bug - Neoscapteriscus vicinus
Zephyrhills, Pasco County, Florida, USA
November 27, 2014
Size: 1.5"
I have been coming here quite a few years now and this is the first time I've seen this critter. Actually I have seen 5 of them on my back patio today. We had over 5" of rain the last 2 days and now it is sunny. The back legs almost look like a grasshopper's but iy doesn't seem inclined to fly.

must be Scapteriscus vicinus
