Jumping spider from Caloptilia leaf roll - Hentzia palmarum - female

Jumping spider from Caloptilia leaf roll - Hentzia palmarum - Female
Milestone Cranberry Bog, Nantucket, Nantucket County, Massachusetts, USA
August 16, 2014
Size: 4 mm
Spiderlings started emerging from a leaf roll made by a Caloptilia larva in a scrub oak leaf. When I opened it up, I found this dead one inside, which I assume is their mother.

Moved
Moved from Jumping Spiders.

Hmmm...
The specimen is a bit beat up, but resembles a Hentzia palmarum female.

I'd buy that
For what it's worth, that species is known to occur on Nantucket, and no other species of Hentzia has been found there.
Although these photos may not be worth keeping for their own sake, it might make sense to keep them around in support of the ID of the spiderlings, which I've now added a link to above.
