Small true bug

Small true bug
Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA
April 12, 2007
Size: ~3 mm
Ina small flower. Maby a minute pirate bug?

Does a
new page need to be created for Orius?

Wait
. . . until a real bug expert gives her/his vote for it!

smaller?
3mm is a bit too big for genus Orius, to which I have almost no doubt this individual belongs.
Species ID is, as a rule, only done by genitalia characters in this genus.

regards!

Yes
It could easily be smaller. I didn't measure it, just eyeballed it. Sorry for taking so long to reply!

Minute pirate bug looks right.
But as you know, I'm no expert. Did you see this post? There's some info I think you'd find interesting:

Good call!
This is definitely in the Anthocoridae. The black and white pattern, coupled with the tiny size, is pretty distinctive.

Thanks
Thanks for the ID, Ron and Eric.
