Mites - Poecilochirus

Mites - Poecilochirus
Rockville, Washington County, Utah, USA
October 18, 2014
Size: 1mm
These little red mites where found on some burying beetles that came to my Mercury light sheet. I don't know if there is only one species of mites that seem to always be on the ventral surface of the burying beetles.

Poecilochirus
Hi John:

Judging by the host and by the divided dorsal shield, these are deutonymphal Poecilochirus (Mesostigmata: Parasitidae), the most common associates of silphids. A good photo is here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/475784/bgpage

Cheers,
Heather

Have these been known to use a human as a host..?
This is the closest picture that I have found, that looks like (one of the "mites") that have infested my body... Can this particular mite live on humans..???
For the past 4 weeks I have been plagued by all sorts of "bugs", from Demodex mites, to something that looks similar to this (but poses as a red mole for awhile), as well as a bunch of "other" things...
If there's any light you can shed my way, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
I'm covered in bites from head to toe and losing hope.. and my sanity.

Thank you
It has been fun learning about the symbiosis between this mite and the Carrion Beetle.
