Lycosidae(2) - Pardosa - Female
Highway 12, Plymouth County, Iowa, USA
August 10, 2014
at a stop along the Highway 12 to look at rocks

Moved from Spiders.

Thanks.
And what are they up to?

Looks like mating ...
though I'm not positive because I can't see the smaller spider's palps. Probably annoying for the female considering she already has an egg sac. Could also be the smaller spider is preying on the other one, but it looks more like mating.

That's what I was wondering.
As if she doesn't have enough to pay attention to!
