These mites are destroying my cacti seedlings - they absolutely love them. Not sure that helps with the ID but its of particular frustration to me!

Tenuipalpidae
This is a false spider mite (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae). There are some good drawings of different life stages here: http://lime.fa.gau.hu/gallery/csalad3514/K_p1_001 A quick Google suggest that it might be Brevipalpus russulus, as this is a pest of cacti: http://www.ento.org.nz/nzentomologist/free_issues/NZEnto10_1_1987/Volume%2010-131-133.pdf
