Theridion sp. - Steatoda triangulosa

Theridion sp. - Steatoda triangulosa
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, USA
January 14, 2015
Size: ~ 1-1.5 cm, including legs
Found while cleaning the cat room at the veterinary clinic where I work, in a far corner of the room underneath a pallet with a community of others of this species and a wide range of ages/sizes (I saw about 20 individuals as I cleaned, perhaps more). I did not notice any particular web patterns under the pallet what with all the old cat litter and gunk that had collected there over time, but the spiders were all fairly calm; I simply noticed them moving about as I cleaned, not necessarily fleeing me. I've tried researching myself, and a friend pointed me to Theridion; the closest I can guess based on color and pattern is Theridion neomexicanum, but that still doesn't look quite right.
