Dichorda sp. - Dichorda

Dichorda sp. - Dichorda
Skull Valley, AZ, USA (WSW of Prescott 10 miles), Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
April 5, 2007
Found at night on side of house near a light.

Moved

7056 - Dichorda rectaria
... based on lack of diffusion in lines and lack of discal spots as noted in Ferguson's MONA monograph and visible in Vargo's specimen photos noted by Robin. Coloration is more difficult to judge but probably also favors this species.

Moved
Moved from Augochlorella.

Dichordophora phoenix
I believe this is Dichordophora phoenix, # 7057. See comparison photos here.

Dichorda species
The forewing PM line begins too close to the apex to be Dichordophora. Among the comparison photos at MPG I think it's a tough call among the 3 species of Dichorda pictured.

Note how far away the PM line is from the apex in Bruce Walsh's photo of Dichordophora phoenix.

Dichorda is in the Guide here.

Good point
Good point on the PM line. The MPG photos do show a distinct difference in relation to the apex. Although there are other photos showing the PM close to the apex on Dichordophora, they may quite likely be misidentified. I agree Dichorda is probably a better candidate. Good catch Robin.

What tribe?
What tribe is this in so I can move it?

Dichordophorini
Tribe Dichordophorini

Wow
That's new to the guide!

Is there a frnge
or are the wing edges well defined. It is hard to tell from the photo.

Wing edging
Sorry Bobby, I goofed & only took one image & I can't tell either as it is a little fuzzy. If there is a fringe it in very miniscule.
