Science fiction monster? - Rhynchophorus cruentatus

Science fiction monster? - Rhynchophorus cruentatus
Panama City, Florida, USA
March 20, 2007
Size: 1-1/2 inch
I'm new to Florida so many of the bugs I'm seeing are totally alien to me. Like this one with the head of a Science Fiction monster.

Palm weevil.
Really outstanding image of one of the giant palm weevils (family Curculionidae). Please add this image to existing ones in the guide pages.

Thanks
I was going to ask how I submit the picture to be added to the guide pages, but I see someone already put it there. I have a ton of bug photos, (mostly becuase my neighbor is a dragonfly nut). If any are worthy, bugguide.net is more than welcome to them. Many are already posted on photobucket(link is below), Unfortunately the rest are in Massachussets. Hope this makes it to the right persons eyes. Should the link be posted elsewhere?
