Parents found this fellow on top of their laundry pile and had it escorted outside. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to snap it. It was a very good individual and didn't shy away from the camera to get a close shot.

carolinensis doesnt range int
carolinensis doesnt range into Socal. Antelucana and coloradensis, however do.

The median carapace stripe is not so narrow between the eyes on either H. carolinensis or H. coloradensis.

I'm fairly certain this is carolinensis, rather than a coloradensis. The legs in this one are like that because of the leaf it's standing over. All the other ones I've I've seen in this area have the wider foreleg stance.
