This edit of Cheryl Moorehead's photo shows the elytra markings of Pysllobora borealis, a western ladybird which can be mistaken for the more cosmopolitan P. vigintimaculata, "20 spot". P. borealis ranges from Montana to New Mexico and west to the Pacific.
