I guess (but only guess!) this new species for bugguide will belong in Erirhinae. Please add info on habitat and size, if you remember - it may help in ID!

Thanks very much Boris. It was on the shore of Saint Lawrence river, on grass.
For now, if you are not sure about the family, I think I will just move it to Curculionidae. Unfortunately, I have no size to provide for any of 2006 pictures.
