Ichneumon Wasp

Ichneumon Wasp
Stevensville, Maryland, USA
September 20, 2004
I think that this is Messatoporus. Any species?

Fabulous image.
Really great image. Until a real expert takes a look at these (and they might even decline, as was the case with the images we selected for our field guide), I'd hesitate to pin a genus on any ichneumons here at Bug Guide. Also, most of the ichneumon experts are European, and I don't have as many contacts "across the pond."
