Yellow/Orange Ants - Lasius aphidicola

Yellow/Orange Ants - Lasius aphidicola
Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 19, 2007
Size: 3-4 mm

Moved
Moved from Lasius.

I agree with Richard
I'll hazard these are Lasius umbratus, with bigger eyes, more pubescence and browner cast to the color than Acanthomyops. The latter, by the way, is now officially a subgenus of Lasius.

Lasius sp. - worker
Citronella ants would be a lighter yellow, with more clubbed antennae.

Citronella ants?
My guess would be something in the genus Acanthomyops, but Gordon Snelling will know for sure. Nice image.
