I haven't done any research on this Sawfly, yet, but we do have those little green RoseSl*ugs, Pe*ar Sl*ugs, and Bris*tly Rose*Slu*gs.

I think it's a good bet...
I think that considering the proximity to the cherry tree, where I have seen Pear Slugs, that this is an adult Pear Slug - Caliroa cerasi.

I also am going to cite Garden Insects of North America (1), page 82, with photos on 83.
