Katydid - Microcentrum retinerve - Male
Upper Stamp Creek, Lake Allatoona, Georgia, USA
August 9, 2003

Angular-wing katydid
Nice shot of a male angular-wing katydid in the genus Microcentrum. These are large insects heard at night in forested areas. Update: apparently only the males of M. retinerve have the brown area between the stridulatory file and the juncture of the wings with the pronotum (top of thorax). Moving to guide.
