Downy and Arnett
Rob, I think you're having fun with the book:-)

you bet
I´m loving the copies of the leafbeetle pages of American beetles and Downy and Arnett Tim has send me. A lot of new information. Gives me something to do this winterperiod

Downie
That's Downie and Arnett(1). "Downy" is cited several other places too.

the sweetpotato flea beetle C. confinis
Tim Moyer has send me a copy of Downy and Arnett. Trying the key I found this one is Chaectocnema confinis
It has the sides of the pronotum obliquely truncate at front angles and with angulation in front of middle (if you have Downy and Arnett compare with the drawing). The further description fits very well.

Thanks Rob
Moved from Flea Beetles.

Chaetocnema sp
glabrous with striae on the elytra and 11 segemented antenna leaves me to think this is a species in the genus Chaetocnema
