Ventral Pattern
Moved from Frass.

I believe the ventral pattern is distorted because the spider is so gravid. When a spider is either very gravid or emaciated it can look different to us than it does the rest of the season. I tried to find a good comparison shot in the guide, and realize now that we don't have any, so I think we should keep this after all.

Frassed
Moved from ID Request. I'm pretty sure this is another Araneus marmoreus. Since you have posted better images of that species already, we don't need these ones. Thanks!

Araneus trifolium
I came across this while trying to find something similar. Looking at it again what do you think of A. trifolium? I'm noticing a an extra band on the femur of leg IV that I also see on other A. trifolium but not other A. marmoreus:

but the ventral abdomen looked unique to me
For days I tried to get a better picture of her, but couldn't. But I thought the ventral side looked different from those of the other marmoreus.
