We saw several of these on pawpaw flowers in longleaf pine sandhill habitat.

Typocerus velutinus and T. zebra
are both found in Florida. Given the triangles at the base of the elytra we would say T. zebra -- info in the guide
here

. Were the colors actually cream/white instead of the usual yellow/gold?

No, we guess the pattern is sufficient
for the ID. We're just accustomed to seeing them in their golden yellow outfits!
