Typocerus? - Typocerus zebra

Typocerus? - Typocerus zebra
Riverside Island, Ocala National Forest, Marion County, Florida, USA
April 22, 2007
We saw several of these on pawpaw flowers in longleaf pine sandhill habitat.

Moved from Beetles.
I agree to J&J´s arguments.

Typocerus velutinus and T. zebra
are both found in Florida. Given the triangles at the base of the elytra we would say T. zebra -- info in the guide here. Great website for the Cerambycids of Florida here. Were the colors actually cream/white instead of the usual yellow/gold?

Typocerus velutinus and T. zebra
I think they were as shown, but I can't be absolutely certain. It it pertinent to the identification?

No, we guess the pattern is sufficient
for the ID. We're just accustomed to seeing them in their golden yellow outfits!
