This
is the site the guide follows for classification.

Thanks
Jeff. That helps.

2093 -- Black-smudged Chionodes Moth -- Chionodes mediofuscella
Very common here, and every specimen looks different from every other. This one is as completely marked as I have seen (John Davis has an almost identical one) but they must wear very rapidly causing a range of appearances.

What family
does this fall under for my classification system?

Searching for Classification
Put the name in the search window here and/or at MPG and see what comes up. In any event, this one is in Gelechiidae - Gelechiinae. All-Leps is also a good site for classification data, and it is their example that is followed at BG.N.

Thanks
Bob. Your coments match my experience here too. Both size and the degree of markings is quite variable right now. I don't see a genus/species page. I'll move it to Gelechiidae for now, unless you can direct me to the family classification.
