Nice find Lisa. These are hard to ID to species and not the most common moth. Look at some of the posts here in the Genus UID section. A lot are similar to yours. I don't think you will get further than Genus with these photographs. Prior to yours there have only been one adult submitted from Kentucky and one caterpillar.

It was at a hard angle to photograph. I let it climb onto my finger, but it started beating it's wings so that image didn't work either.
