Central Florida beetle from wooded area - Mallodon dasystomus

Central Florida beetle from wooded area - Mallodon dasystomus
Dade City, Pasco County, Florida, USA
Size: 56 mm long

I have a large beetle? it looks simmilar to that.
But im in arizona and this beetle has 3 spikes on each side of its thorax massive mandibles its antennas are about half the length of its body and its about 2 and a half inches long. its bigger than the ones ive seen in florida thinner and has larger eyes as well.

look for it . . .
dear bluesong, just browse the images at node "Prioninae", and you may find yours - with 3 spines at sides of the collar it should belong in this group.
