Stonefly - Pteronarcys dorsata

Stonefly - Pteronarcys dorsata
Riverdale, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
May 23, 2008
Size: 45-50mm

Moved
Moved from Giant Stoneflies.

It's probably not a good idea to ID Pteronarcys by looking at images alone. All the keys require looking at genitalia or secondary sex characters. Having said that, I think there's a very good case to make that this is P. dorsata based on distribution.

Must be P. dorsata? Also matches this image of that species: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/86/Pteronarcys_dorsata.jpg
