tephritid - Aciurina trixa - female

tephritid - Aciurina trixa - Female
Short Canyon, Kern County, California, USA
March 26, 2015
Size: ~4mm
Her ovipositor is visible under a tissue layer of the stem.

I saw two kinds of already-developed galls on this bush, but I don't know if this was the inducer of either of those, or perhaps of a different type of gall. Ericameria is galled by quite a few different tephritid species.
