Unfortunately this critter flew into the house and we couldn't find it again until we found it on the floor dead.

Thank you for the ID! This is my first time seeing one-wish we could have gotten it out of the house before it died, even though it was bright red-it hid pretty good. I will have to learn more about them now. Once again, thank you for your help!

Right ID…
The only other species which is rarely seen in Florida is
C. festivum
, but it lacks the red coloration.
